Winter Park Resort Early Childhood Teacher Position Availalbe 4/17/17

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience:An EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER assigned responsibility for a single group of children and working under the supervision of a director must be at least 18 years of age and must meet at least one of the following qualifications: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.  Effective May 31, 2010, the major study area of the degree must be in one of the following areas:

  • Early childhood education;
  • Elementary education;
  • Special education;
  • Family and child development;
  • Child Psychology

Effective May 31, 2010, a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major area of study in any area other than those listed at Section 7.702.54, A, 1, must have two (2) three-credit early childhood education college courses with one course being either introduction to early childhood education or guidance strategies, and at least six (6) months (910) hours of satisfactory experience.

 

A two (2)-year college degree with a major study area early childhood education from a regionally accredited college or university plus at least six (6) months (910) hours of satisfactory experience.

 

Completion of two (2) years of college education, sixty (60) semester hours, from a regionally accredited college or university with at least two (2) three-credit early childhood education college courses with one course being either introduction to early childhood education or guidance strategies  plus six (6) months (910 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children under six (6) years of age who are not related to the individual. This option to be EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER qualified will not be available after May   31, 2011.

 

Twelve semester hours in college‑level credits from a regionally accredited college or university in the area of early childhood education, plus nine (9) months (1,395 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children under six (6) years of age who are not related to the individual.

 

Completion of a vocational or occupational education sequence from a high school or trade school in early childhood education plus twelve (12) months (1,820 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children under six (6) years of age who are not related to the individual.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

Colorado Department of Social Service Requirements:

Early Education Center employees will be required to supply and/or obtain the following:

  1. First Aid Certification
  2. Infant/Child CPR certification
  3. Record of immunizations
  4. Physical examination
  5. Fingerprints
  6. Central Registry Background check
  7. Three written references
  8. Emergency contact information

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

When authorized, may drive a 15 passenger van with children and adults to fieldtrips and activities

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move  and position a minimum of 40 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer on an occasional basis.
  • Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with children, supervisors and other employees.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on a regular basis.

Mountain Environment:

Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.

  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.

Housekeeping:

Most work tasks are performed indoors- temperature is moderate and controlled by environmental systems.

  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment and products.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to non-slip shoes, protective eye wear, and protective gloves.
